At Humanity at Heart, we feel that the best way of helping Romania is to support local efforts by Romanians to help themselves. We are therefore working alongside the Romanian registered charity, the Herepeia Foundation.  Our work is based in Petrosani, an ex-mining area in the Carpathian mountains, which suffers from high unemployment, social and economic poverty, due to the closure of the mines during the 1990s.  The Colony, in which the Joshua Community Centre is based, is a particularly poor area, with a high percentage of the population made up of Roma families.

In partnership with the Herepeia Foundation, we set up and fully fund the Joshua Community Centre,


 

 as well as the Caleb Computer Centre
